About the role

We're looking for an exceptional Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to join our Engineering team and help build the embedded technologies powering the future of everyday health. You'll play a key role in developing the embedded software, device connectivity and system architecture behind the connected technologies transforming the bathroom into an intelligent health platform.

This is not a traditional embedded engineering role. While your core expertise will be embedded software and connected devices, you'll also contribute to backend services, cloud infrastructure, internal tools and end-to-end system architecture. We're looking for an engineer who enjoys understanding the complete technology stack and taking ownership from concept to production.

You'll work closely with Product, Hardware, Backend, AI and Data teams to develop reliable, scalable and intelligent products used by leading sports organizations and enterprise customers worldwide. You'll help build the technological foundations of a category-defining health platform where hardware, software, cloud and AI work seamlessly together to redefine how health is monitored in everyday life.

What you'll do

• Develop embedded software for connected devices.
• Design communication between hardware, cloud services and applications.
• Build backend services, APIs and internal tools, primarily in Python.
• Participate in software and system architecture decisions.
• Collaborate with Product to turn ideas into scalable technical solutions.
• Own features from concept through deployment.
• Troubleshoot issues across firmware, backend and cloud.
• Improve engineering practices, code quality and development processes.
• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
• Mentor other engineers through technical leadership.

What we're looking for

Required

• Minimum 5+ years of professional software engineering experience (10+ years preferred).
• Strong embedded software development experience (C/C++ or similar).
• Excellent Python development skills.
• Experience developing software for Linux-based embedded systems.
• Experience with Bash scripting and Linux development environments.
• Familiarity with Qt5 for embedded or desktop applications.
• Experience with Yocto or similar embedded Linux build systems.
• Experience with communication protocols such as BLE, UART, SPI, I²C, MQTT, TCP/IP and HTTP/REST.
• Experience designing and building REST APIs.
• Experience with Docker, containers and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, testing and code reviews.
• Strong software architecture and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent English.

Nice to have

• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and move across different layers of the stack.
• Cloud platforms (GCP, Hetzner or similar).
• Experience working in startups or fast-growing companies.
• Experience with AI-enabled products or data-driven applications.
• Experience designing APIs and distributed systems.
