About the role

We're looking for an exceptional Senior Software Engineer to join our Engineering team and help build the software foundations powering the future of everyday health. You'll play a key role in designing and developing the backend systems, cloud infrastructure and APIs that power the connected technologies transforming the bathroom into an intelligent health platform.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys building scalable, reliable and secure software that powers connected devices, AI-driven services and customer-facing applications. You'll work closely with Product, AI, Embedded and Frontend teams to deliver high-quality solutions that improve product performance, reliability and customer experience. This isn't a typical software engineering role. We're looking for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, embraces ownership and enjoys taking products from concept to production. You'll help build the core technology platform behind a new generation of connected health products, enabling intelligent features, scalable digital services and exceptional user experiences that redefine how health is monitored in everyday life.

What you'll do

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services, primarily in Python.
• Build and evolve REST APIs that power web, mobile and IoT applications.
• Design and optimize databases, data models and system integrations.
• Develop cloud-native services with a strong focus on reliability and scalability.
• Contribute to cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines and system monitoring.
• Improve platform performance, observability and security.
• Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve system reliability.
• Collaborate with Product, AI, Embedded and Frontend teams to deliver new features.
• Participate in software architecture and technical design decisions.
• Build clean, maintainable and well-tested software following engineering best practices.
• Improve development workflows, CI/CD pipelines and code quality.
• Mentor other engineers through technical guidance and code reviews.
• Continuously evaluate new technologies and best practices.

What we're looking for

Required

• 5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience (10+ years preferred).
• Strong Python development skills.
• Experience with modern backend frameworks (FastAPI, Django or similar).
• Experience designing REST APIs.
• Experience designing scalable software architectures.
• Strong SQL and PostgreSQL knowledge.
• Experience with Firebase.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, Hetzner or similar).
• Experience with Docker, Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with monitoring and background processing tools (Sentry, Celery or similar).
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent English.

Nice to have

• Experience with infrastructure as code.
• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, MQTT).
• Experience with IoT or connected devices.
• Experience integrating AI or machine learning services.
