Kamleon has been awarded the RETECH grant, in collaboration with Lighthouse Disruptive Innovation Group, for the development of a pioneering technological solution in the field of digital health based on artificial intelligence and advanced sensorization.
The project, called Predict Health Toilet (PHT), aims to transform an everyday habit—the use of the toilet—into a continuous, non-invasive biomonitoring tool accessible from home. Through integrated sensors and advanced AI models, the system is able to analyze urine parameters in real time to enable early detection of risks related to hydration status that may lead to potentially avoidable hospitalizations.
In a context marked by population aging and the rise of chronic diseases, this technology represents a paradigm shift towards a more preventive, personalized, and efficient healthcare model. It is estimated that between 40% and 70% of these hospitalizations could be avoided through early monitoring tools, highlighting the potential impact of solutions such as the one developed by Kamleon.
The system integrates biosensing technologies together with advanced AI algorithms, including predictive models and digital twins, enabling the generation of personalized alerts and supporting decision-making, as well as the development of population-level models. This combination of technological innovation and practical application positions Kamleon as a benchmark in the development of user-centric digital health solutions.
The initiative is supported by the Government of Catalonia and the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, further reinforcing the promotion of strategic projects that integrate technology, sustainability, and improvements to the healthcare and social care system.
